What If Jesus Meant All That Stuff?

I can hardly believe that i am nearly half way through being 50 years old! The stress has been limited but the gray hair has increased. Life is getting better… I think.

How do you and I judge if life is getting better? Do we have a plan or a play book that sets the rules? Open you eyes and look, we are in a mass transit lifestyle and no one is driving the train! Well this is not always the truth, God is at the wheel and he is in charge! This should be a statement of fact in many of our lives but in some cases it is not. The world has told us that God does not exist, he is not real: the Bible tells us that he is creator of all, the GIVER of life the forgiveness of Sin! Who do you say he is?

If we go through life and miss the greatness of God, I believe that we have missed out of His blessing. Where do you sit, all alone on a bench at the intersection of life and death, or, Walking hand in hand with the Alpha and Omega!

Everyday I wake up and look at the rest of my life. I look at the past and wonder what I could have done better, I look at the day and wonder what will happen and then I think of tomorrow…what will be in my future. Each moment that we live is something we can never get back, a part of history that will never be re-written or even changed. Yesterday is over and tomorrow will never come, we must seize the day!

Each day opens the window of new experiences and adventure. A beautiful time that we can seek with family, friends, and God. Have you thought of ways that your life can change? How is your one on one time with your family? Many times we slipp and fall flatt on our face because we neglet this precious time with our family. We sail through life and miss the smiles or the touch of those who love us, WHY?

Today is a new start for building relationship with people. Today is a new start to making friends with those you encounter in your life. Today is the day you share Jesus!

in the past few months there have been many changes in my life, job , residence, and even churches. In this world of change there are many variables that effect your life. I am convinced that the change we experience is just a minor step to the final page of our lives.

When we make a move that leads us to different paths in life there will allways be something different, change. Its a scary thing when all that you are use too now becomes unkown and all you do is a new adventure, change. How do we cope with the stress, the turmoil, I do not know any way but one,JESUS!

In the New Testament when Jesus was walking on the beach he came upon some fisherman who had experienced a bad day at the office. For a salesman,m its no sales, for a fisherman its no fish, for you or me it may be something different, JUST A bad DAY! jESUS ASK THEM TO EXCEPT SOME CHANGE IN THEIR LIVES, TO STOP WAT THEY WERE DOING, DROP THEIR NETS, QUIT THEIR JOBS AND follow him!

The rest is history! change!

God is in the service industry! I am aware that this may sound alittle off but He is! He provides both you and I with a major service, the clenseing and the renewal of a life that is covered in sin. There is no way but through the sacrifice of Jesus can we ever be cleaned and cured of the sting of sins bite, only through the sacrifice of Christ!

In a new series that God is building in my spirit I ask myself a question,WHY?

Why would the sone of God leave heaven to spend 33 years on earth as the son of a carpenter, die on a cross, suffer the pain that he suffered for me? WHY? The answer is a simple one, Jesus came so we could be forgiven and transformed ! Clean from the filth of sin and transformed into children of God!

JN 3:16 says” for God so loved the world that he gave His only son….” He did this for each of us, black, white, brown or red. Jewish, German, Islam, Baptist or wicca…God gave for us all! The issue is that we have not been willing to keep the agreement, he gave so we should confess our sins and follow Him. If the price that was paid becomes a one sided sacrifice then his death on the cross was in vain! This is wrong, Jesus paid a price for you and me, all we have to do is believe and confess our sis.

so, what will it be, heaven or hell, turn or burn?

Well i have a new day to live and the day is for the glory of God! each morning when we wake up this should be our prayer, to live our life for the glory of the Father, but many times it is for the glory of self. When i wake in the morning any times it is before anyone else in the house, some me time to do and be all i can be for….me…or..for GOD! If i am to be fully awake and alert there has to be a motivation tha is inside, a driving force that pushes me and drives me.

I am convinced that many Monday morning motivations are the result of a hetict Sunday night, too much me time and not enough time with God. why are we so selfish that God gets our second best and not our first? We do this in our church life, our family life and even our personal life, God gets the leftovers of our lives and we think that this is enough! God gave his best, his only, His son for the paymenjt of sin in the lives of humanity and we are too selfish to give him back what is his!

Each time that we hold out on God we are ripping ourself off of a blessing! Give back to God and he will bless you beyond measure!

I believe that on the day that  the church stops looking at the inside and realizes that the outside is where the needs are we will see the hand of God change our world! Too many churches are missing the call of Christ in Matt. 28:18 to make disciples and reach the world we have left the mission of Christ on a side street or in a ditch! Do you believe that the word of God was given so we could pick and choose the parts that we like and disregard the rest? God inspired the writers both of the new and the old testament to bring HIS direction and desires to you and I in written form so that we could have a foundation to live our life on… now just start to do that!

The Bible is the inspired word of God, without error and for you and I. As believers we must open the word and apply it too our lives without questions…

Well I am in the middle of change, from one house to another, one church to another and even one demonation to another, my life is filled with change. Change is a good thing, if we are willing to allow God to direct our change. Many try to tell God how or even when change should occur that makes our will the force behind change. God is the director of our changs is we are willing.

The word is filled with change.  All through scriptures we see where change happens. From a life of sin to an eternal life of salvation. CHANGE. Are we willing to make the move, or do we just sit on the sidewalk of life and let it ,change, pass us by? If we are to be all we can be for God we must be willing to change! 

One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. 19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 20 And they left their nets at once and followed him.21A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too. 22 They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.

In the blink of an eye, with the drop of a net there is change! So are you a sidewalk sitter or a net dropper, change!

Each of us are in the beginning of a new day and a new adventure in life, simple or complicated , we are here! How we live our life and pruse our future depends on our desires and wants!

God has a plan that leads us to His arms but many times we dictate the path that we want to walk and try to force his hand. We the body are to listen to his word and hear his voice, we just need to shut up and listen!

When Jesus went to the mountain he went to hear the father and to talk with him about the path he was travling, nothing else, to pray and listen! In this page  of his 33 years on earth he took 3 of his closest friends with him, a support group that would stand beside him in the most difficult night of his life. Just like many “church people” we sleep through the blessings and still expect the blessing. Jesus comes and asks us to stand with him but we take a nap!

The church needs to wake up from a nap of conteness and run to the cross. Covered in the Blood, forgiven for our sins and in love with Jesus…this should be our prayer!

Life has many roads we can travel, some are easy, some are not. If we choose the wrong path our travels can be rough. I do not know the correct path to be on sometimes but I am motivated to finish the course. If as a christian I am discouraged by the travels of life, what is my alternative?

In the past nine months there have been many potholes in this path of life I am traveling, potholes that force me to stumble. In a marriage we must realize that when we travel as a family, we are never alone! My wife has been the force behind me and has supported me even when I am wrong. I am blessed! The problem is that at this junction of my life I am becoming scared, scared I have failed at being who I am called to be. I know that the devil has put these thoughts in my mind to take my focus off  God, but I am scared.

I am scared at failure in ministry. I am scared at faling in my marriage, not that I would do anything wrong, but that the pressure I have on my wife would hurt her. I am scared that when I get to heaven Jesus ask me why I missed out on an area of service and I have no answer. I am scared that I am loosing focus.

I am aware that this is a weary heart that just needs to vent and open up, so I say thank you for listening! I am aware that as I travle this path I am on God is in control!

Matthew writes in chapter 7:13-14
  “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. (ESV) This is the path I choose, the narrow gate, and I know that the road is rough!
